LONDON.- Frieze has announced today the details of their tenth London fair. Frieze London will take place 11–14 October 2012 in Regent’s Park, London and is sponsored by Deutsche Bank for the ninth consecutive year.

Frieze London is one of the world’s most influential contemporary art fairs and brings an international focus to the dynamic contemporary art scene in the UK capital every October. Frieze London is a carefully selected presentation of the most forward-thinking contemporary galleries from around the globe and takes place in a bespoke temporary structure, designed this year, once again, by architects Carmody Groarke.

The tenth edition features a new section. Focus is for galleries established after 2001, showing up to three artists. Focus was first introduced at Frieze New York, which took place 4–7 May in Randall’s Island Park, Manhattan.

This year, coinciding with the London fair, Frieze also introduces Frieze Masters, a new fair with a contemporary perspective on historical art. Together the crossover between the two fairs will make London the focus for a broad international art audience.

Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover, co-directors of Frieze, commented: ‘We are delighted to be presenting our tenth edition. This year is an exciting one for the company. Having successfully launched Frieze New York in May, we’re now looking forward to our two UK fairs. Together Frieze London and Frieze Masters promise to make London in October one of the most anticipated moments in the international art world calendar.’

Michele Faissola, Global Head of Rates and Commodities, and Member of the Global Art Advisory Council, Deutsche Bank said: ‘Every year, Frieze London gets tens of thousands of people thinking about how we see the world through art. Deutsche Bank’s art programme shares this aim by providing a platform for artists and encouraging our clients, employees and shareholders to engage with creativity. Deutsche Bank is proud to share its passion for art with Frieze.’

Participating Galleries
Frieze London will see a total of 170 exhibitors from 34 countries making it the most international edition of Frieze London; confirming its position as one of the world’s leading contemporary art events with participants from territories including Argentina, China, Columbia, Hungary, India, Korea and South Africa.

The introduction of Focus brings a fresh perspective to the fair and a globally broad reach with galleries such as: Algus Greenspon (New York), Casas Riegner (Bogota), Jessica Bradley Art + Projects (Toronto), Chatterjee & Lal (Mumbai), Chert (Berlin), dépendance (Brussels), One And J. Gallery (Seoul) and RaebervonStenglin (Zurich).

The geographical diversity of participating galleries continues in Frame, the section of the fair dedicated to galleries established less than six years ago and selected on the basis of a proposed solo stand. Frame presentations include: Bani Abidi at Experimenter (Kolkata); Xavier Antin at Galerie Crèvecoeur (Paris); Carolina Caycedo at La Central (Bogota); Lukas Jasansky & Martin Polak at SVIT (Prague); Mike Kuchar at François Ghebaly Gallery (Los Angeles); István Csákány at Kisterem (Budapest) and Lucas Blalock at Ramiken Crucible, (New York).

Frame presents a number of galleries that have not previously benefitted from an international platform to show their work; 16 of the 21 galleries in this section are new to the London fair. The Frame galleries selection has been advised by curators Rodrigo Moura and Tim Saltarelli. Frame is supported by Cos.
