NEW YORK, N.Y.- Taglialatella Galleries announces two new executive positions to their New York staff: Mr. Brian Swarts, President and Director of Sales and Ms. Diana Buckley, Director of Administration and Curator of the Project Space.
Taglialatella’s new President and Director of Gallery Operations, Mr. Brian Swarts, has been the Director of Sales for the New York location. Mr. Swarts has been with Taglialatella Galleries for a period of time and has quickly become part of Dominic Taglialatella’s vision for the future of this international company, one of the most recognized and reputable contemporary and modern art galleries in the world.
Mr. Swarts studied both art and literature at the College of Wooster in Ohio, where he received his BS in Literature, as well as Lorenzo D’Medici University in Florence, Italy, where he studied fine art and art history. Since moving to New York City six years ago, Mr. Swarts has worked in the gallery business, specializing in contemporary art with a Pop Art focus, including artists Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Roy Lichtenstein. Simultaneously, he has worked closely with emerging artists to build successful marketing and sales programs, as well as coordinating gallery events, inventory, and exhibitions. Mr. Swarts will oversee operations of Taglialatella Galleries worldwide and concentrate on major client sales.
Ms. Buckley, Director of Administration and Curator of Taglialatella’s Project Space, holds a BFA with an emphasis in Art History Theory and Criticism from the Art Institute of Chicago and an MA in Art Administration from the University of New Orleans. Recently relocating to New York from New Orleans to forge a career in a Global NYC art gallery, she has presented at conferences and has been invited to guest speak for graduate level Arts Management courses in Arts Law. Ms. Buckley has held positions and internships for profit, non-profit and government organizations including, the New Orleans Museum of Art, The PACE gallery, the Louisiana State Museum, Woman Made Gallery, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Prior to transitioning to New York, she was a curator for three years at the Louisiana State Museum, where she was responsible for building a vast collection comprising over twenty thousand artifacts exhibited throughout the world.
