KENT, CT.- Page Turner is the art and writing competition launched by

Aim Higher Kent and Medway and
University for the Creative Arts, with the aim of uncovering new talented artists and writers in Kent.

We are looking for original artwork inspired by the theme Nothing in the World But Youth, with the winning entries to be shown in an exhibition of the same name at the new Turner Contemporary gallery 17 September 2011- 8 January 2012. This means that the winners will have their creations displayed alongside works by artists such as JMW Turner, Andy Warhol and Peter Blake.
The exhibition explores how youth experience has been reflected in art, culture and the media from the late nineteenth century to today. Inspired by Margate, a seaside town associated with theme parks, beauty contests and clashes between Mods and Rockers in the 1960s, the exhibition focuses on what it means to be a teenager.
