BARCELONA, SPAIN.- Art historian and art critic Ricard Mas has published the book "The Public Life of Salvador Dalí" in Catalonian. The book will be soon published also in Spanish. Ricard Mas has reviewed more than 300 interviews made to Dalí between 1928 and 1986 to write this book. Mas stated, "Dalí explains his life without middle men. Dalí is the first great superstar artist, the envy of Warhol. There is a Dalí painter, a Dalí writer and there is also a public person Dalí. Throughout his life, Dalí creates a character that eats the artists. The character comes out and becomes stronger and the Dalí that gives new things to painting slowly disappears. The quality of his painting diminishes, there is no doubt." This is the thesis of this art historian and the focus of this new book.
