MIAMI, FL.- The Miami Art Museum announced today that it has appointed Elizabeth A. Marquardt to the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Were delighted to welcome Elizabeth to the Museums staff, MAM Director Terence Riley said. As we prepare to break ground for our new home in Museum Park, were particularly grateful to add someone with Elizabeths depth of experience in managing the finances of complex projects to our dedicated team of professionals.
Marquardt has extensive experience in the Miami business community, including prior positions at Ferrell Law, Miami, where she served as Chief Financial Officer, and at Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, Coral Gables, where she was Senior Director. Prior to moving to Miami she held positions with Volvo North America in Greensboro, North Carolina and Lima, Peru; General Signal Corporation of Stamford, CT; Tambrands, Inc, of White Plains, NY and KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP in Stamford, CT.
I truly am thrilled to be joining the wonderful staff and devoted trustees of the Museum at such an exciting time in its history, as we all prepare to expand and build our terrific new building at Museum Park, Marquardt noted.
Marquardt received her JD from the University of Miami School of Law. She also received her Masters of Accountancy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management with an accounting concentration from Gettysburg College.
In her new capacity, Marquardt will be responsible for all of the Museums finance and accounting functions. José Garcia, former Deputy Director for Administration, will now hold the title of Deputy Director for Administration and Government Affairs. He will direct the Museums interactions with the city, county and state officials as well as the Museums administration, IT, security and visitor services departments.
