TULSA, OK.- Philbrook Museum of Art and Circle Cinema announce the regional premier of the film The Gates: A Film about The Gates in Central Park, New York City will be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 11, 8–10:30 pm at Philbrook Museum of Art.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude created a masterpiece—a piece of art that not only inspired the mind, but touched the soul. For 16 days in February 2005, over 7,500 gates covered more than 23 miles of Central Park walkways.

The film follows the temporary life of The Gates from inception, through installation, enjoyment, and disassembly. Discover the struggles and triumphs of their 26-year journey in this documentary by the renowned filmmakers Antonio Ferrera and the Maysles brothers.

Special guests, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, will be in attendance for a question and answer session.

The film is 97 minutes, not rated, and is the recipient of the Peabody Award. The film will screen at Circle Cinema beginning Sunday, July 12. Circle Cinema and Philbrook Members can purchase tickets starting June 25 at www.circlecinema .com or at 918-585.3504. Non members can purchase tickets beginning July 2.

The Circle Cinema @ Philbrook partnership is designed to unite the strengths of both institutions to present an acclaimed documentary, by the iconic Maysles brothers about equally iconic artists, Christo and Jeanne-Claude. The Philbrook and Circle Cinema partnership is dedicated to bring the best art-related films to Tulsa.
