Timeless Fashion and Art Introduces the "100 Years of Fashion" Art Series

JACKSONVILLE, OR.- The “100 Years of Fashion” art series is the work of Wanda Pèpin and is the culmination of several years of research and work and combines her love of art with her passion for fashion.

Wanda started researching vintage fashion in 2003. She began to purchase vintage pieces and learn more about designers, particularly those who were popular in past decades.

At the same time she continued to grow as an artist and became internationally sought after for her highly textured fine art pieces. It was around then that Wanda began to conceive of a project that would combine fashion and art, as she was inspired by the two things she was most passionate about. In 2008 she introduced her new art series, 100 Years of Fashion.

Each individual painting showcases a woman in a dress that was popular in the year she represents. The dress has been chosen as the most beautiful dress of that year by Wanda's fans and fashion enthusiasts on her website and blog.

All the women in this series are dancing. When hung together they look as if they are dancing with each other. Wanda has chosen to paint a contemporary abstract background to compliment most modern interiors. She has also kept the flesh tones and faces muted so that each painting places more emphasis on the dress. The figures are elongated to emphasize the beautiful design of the dress. Because the series is about fashion, she wanted to keep the focus on the fashion with less emphasis on the woman in it. The designer of the dress is handwritten in 18kt gold on the side of the gallery wrap canvas.

Wanda's artwork can be found in many private collections around the world including Mexico, Antiqua, Cyprus, England, Canada, Australia and throughout the U.S.A.
