ANTIBES.- Originaly designed by Jean Gismondi to animate the Old Antibes, set up by The Association of the Tradesmen, Craftsmen, Artists and Open in the Old Antibes which chaired access Claude Ammirati, then Jean Gismondi and finally Gerard Fantino, sponsored by Peynet who carried out all the posters, this Exhibition whose modesty was in its beginnings became one of the most important of France.
Indeed the exhibition
"Antiquités Brocante of the Old Antibes" remains one of the most important event of this kind in Europe.
The notoriety of its founder, Jean Gismondi, the quality of the pieces of furniture, of objects, of art or tables which are exhibited there, the variety of the secondhand trade also, are major assets, which encourage the collectors, amateurs, decorators and visitors to return at Antibes.
This year within the environment of the exhibition, Christian Eludut, introduces an exceptional collection of drawings, pastels, oils, lithographies and lacquers, of two of the most important animalist artists of the Thirties, Gaston Suisse and Paul Jouve. This event joins together a bestiary of an incredible diversity.
For twenty years it has been the research of these two masters of works, which makes to run our collector in the sales-rooms from Paris to New York, while passing through London, in order to constitute this collection that the visitors will be happy to contemplate today.
Scenario writer, film producer advertising executives Christian Eludut worked with the greatest producers, like Marcel Carné with whom it began, or more recently Francis Ford Coppola, David Lynch, Wim Wender, Wong Kar Waî.
The exhibition of the Antibes antiquity dealers, is also the launching of the summer season, the houses, the boats and the large hotels full V.I.P.hosts. Under an immense hall, located on the port of Antibes, at near the ramparts, is a meeting point located in the main center of the Riviera at 15 minutes of the Nice Riviera Airport, at 10 minutes of the motorway of the Esterel and
at zero minute of the boats!!
All that, is the charm, all that, is the History, which represents a placement and takes part in the creation or the increase in an heritage. The last public sales of the Count and Countess of Paris and Saint Laurent Pierre Bergé, it seems that the art benefiting of favorable tax oportunities, constitute a financial refuge as much as a personnal desire.
