Cheekwood Names New Vice President, Development and Marketing
Wil Elder.



NASHVILLE, TN.- Wil Elder has been named Vice President of Development and Marketing at Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Art. Wil comes to Nashville after having served as the Major Gifts Officer at McCallie School in Chattanooga for over five years.

“We are delighted to have Wil head up this very important area for Cheekwood,” said Jack Becker, Ph.D., Cheekwood’s President/CEO. “With his recognized talents, he brings a wealth of experience to us that will be significant in overseeing our marketing and development efforts. We look forward to introducing him to the community over the next few weeks.”

At McCallie School in Chattanooga, Wil gained extensive development experience in the area of major gifts, planned gifts, and capital campaigns. He helped lead the institution’s efforts to connect to a wide variety of audiences. Prior to his work in Chattanooga, Wil was Director of Development at Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis. Wil is a graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and has an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.

Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate. Cheekwood exists to celebrate and preserve its landscape, buildings, and art and botanical collections, and, through these unique means provide an inspiring place for visitors to explore their connections with art, nature and the environment. Cheekwood is located at 1200 Forrest Park Drive in Nashville, 8 miles southwest of downtown Nashville.
