People, Politics and Perversion: The Photographs of Helene Gaillet at Hillwood Art Museum |
BROOKVILLE, NY.- In 1969 Helene was asked to photograph social events in New York City for GAMMA-LIAISON. This French photo agency was extremely popular and successful for decades in representing international photographers throughout the world. It was merged into the international photo agency GETTY IMAGES.
From covering fundraisers, parties and clubs as a photojournalist, Hélène developed her own style of casual portraits of celebrities, artists, designers and politicians. Her portfolio of "FABULOUS FAMOUS FACES"™ then expanded into a much more personal realm of unexpected extravagant and sophisticated slide shows called "DREAMS AND FANTASIES"™. She consequently had several exhibitions in New York and Paris.
