12th International Meeting of Photojournalism in the City of Gijon

CITY OF GIJON.- This year, the International Festival of Photojournalism "City of Gijón", defies all expectations. With one of the most beautiful coastal cities in Spain and within the incomparabe framework of the multicultural festival 'Semana Negra', the Festival will assemble fourteen professionals such as historical reporter Enrique Meneses, the journalist and director of the Center of Solidarity of the International Journalist Federation of Colombia, Eduardo Márquez, the journalist and argentinian producer Karem Maron, the renowned photojournalists Juan Medina and Jesús Abad, the Pro Human Rights Association vice-president in Spain, Luis Acebal,, and the awarded cameraman Miguel de la Fuente, among others. All of them will teach in the workshop that is organized every year in colaboration with the University of Oviedo and they will participate in the interesting round tables that will have place in the Tent Festival of 'Semana Negra' on Thursday, 17th, and Friday, 18th and it will continue with the projection of the photojournalists works that will compete for the Festival Prize, worth 6000 euros. And as every year. the Festival has organized a great photographic exhibition with works of great quality.
