MURCIA.- Organized by Galería Clave in its three first occasions and consolidated as one of the most important exhibitions of figurative art in Spain, the Biennial of Realism and Contemporary Figuration announces its fourth event promoted and organized, from this new invitation, by Fundación López Rejas.

Artists of any nationality (resident or non-resident in Spain) can participate.

DOSSIERS

The artists can participate submitting a photographic dossier, with a minimum of ten works of art, executed within the last two years, together with their corresponding technical information: date of execution, technique, medium and format used. The photographs must me printed in paper. Slides, CD-ROMs, and transparencies will not be accepted. The dossier must include the up dated curriculum vitae and any eventual article or catalogue illustrating the activities of the artist. The material to present must be specified on the envelope.

WORKS OF ART

The Biennial will be divided in 3 sections:
PAINTING, SCULPTURE AND PHOTOGRAPHY.

The works of art presented in the dossiers must belong to the realistic or figurative movement and the topic, format and execution techniques are free.

SUBMISSION

The dossiers, including copy of D.N.I or passport, must be sent to:

Works must be submitted from May 1st, 2008 to July 30th, 2008.

PRIZES

Fundación López Rejas will establish a maximum amount of 100,000 euros to be destined to buy selected works of art which will be property of the Foundation and will form part of its collection.
The purchase will be made following the jury recommendations, establishing a minimum buy amount of 24,000 euros.

JURY

The jury will be presided over by the Director of Fundación López Rejas and it will be made up of distinguished members of recognized prestige in the national scene of contemporary art, whose names will be made public at the time of the verdict, during the month of September.

SELECTION

The jury will make a first selection based on the presented dossiers and will select one work of art from each of them, which will be sent together with the entry form to Fundación López Rejas, where the definite selection will occur. A collective exhibition of the selected works of art will take place, in the premises of this Foundation, between September and October 2008, and a catalogue will be published where all the selected works of art will appear printed in color.

CONDITIONS

The dossiers and works of art sent via courier will be sent in a door to door service, which will be at the expense of the artist as well as the shipment and return costs. Fundación López Rejas will take special care of the works of art and dossiers received, but will not be responsible for any damage or loss that may occur either in transportation or during the event. Fundación López Rejas establishes a term of 30 days after the jury verdict to return the dossiers which were not selected and the artists can withdraw their works within thirty days after the end of the exhibition. Once this term is over, the works of art will be considered abandoned by their owners, Fundación López Rejas being free to dispose at will of those works.

Participation in the contest implies the total acceptance of these conditions. The jury will resolve any unpredictable case. Fundación López Rejas reserves the right to publicize and promote by any media the selected works, as well as to keep these works during the period of time that the organization considers necessary, in case of a travelling exhibition.
