LONG BEACH, CA.- The Board of Directors of the Long Beach Museum of Art is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald C. Nelson to the position of Executive Director, effective March 1, 2008. Ron has served as Interim Executive Director for the Long Beach Museum of Art since November 2006 and prior to that he served as the Museum’s Director of Development.

Under Ron’s leadership over the last fifteen months, the Museum has achieved greater financial stability; embarked on new initiatives with local institutions of higher learning and local arts groups; and developed and mounted successful and innovative exhibitions. Ron’s interest in promoting local and regional artists will again take form on February 29 with the opening of the exhibition Three: Fern Bowen, Carl Aldana and Lori LaMont.

We have every confidence in Ron’s skills and abilities to move the Museum toward a bright new future and are thrilled that he has accepted the position of Executive Director.
