| Flow Art Fair To Open in Miami |
MIAMI, FL.- Following the success of last year's inaugural flow art fair in Miami, flow fair founders Julie Baker and Matt Garson presented the list of exhibitors for flow Miami 2007.
This year flow will take over the newly renovated Dorset Hotel on Collins Avenue, just 2 blocks from Basel Miami and in the neighborhood of other satellite fairs. This new venue allows for much larger exhibition spaces; on average about 300 square feet, nearly double the size of last year's rooms at the Catalina hotel. In addition flow has increased the number of exhibitors from 18 to 30. Flow exhibitors will empty the room of furniture and be able to hang directly on the wall. Within the frenzy and chaos of all the fairs in Miami in December, flow will standout by having approachable exhibitors and an overall streamlined consistency of quality. Flow also remains fresh, room to room because multiple dealers are not allowed to exhibit the same artist.
This year flow dealers represent approximately 15 states and 25 cities to further prove that great art should not be determined by a zip code. Gallerists are chosen not only on the basis of their trained and acute ability to spot great talent, but who have reputations for being fair, good to their artists and good natured people who are not afraid or too important to look up when someone enters the room and say hello.
Art fairs are principally about commerce but they should also be about a community of galleries representing artists to the best collectors in the best possible way. This year flow exhibitors will feature emerging to mid-career artists from lleading galleries such as Arthur Roger, Linda Durham, PDX, Toomey Tourell and Marcia Wood to blue chip artists from KN gallery, Scott White Contemporary Art and Nohra Haime Gallery.
Last year, flow became known as the "fun" fair, "the sleeper hit of the Miami fairs", and "the fairest of all the fairs". With a slightly expanded roster of 30 passionate art dealers representing outstanding emerging to mid career artists flow will continue to stand out among the satellite fairs.
