The eight large and colorful paintings in Fresh Paint are made with both oil and acrylic paint adorned with glitter, confetti, and other decorative ornaments. “The Enchanted Garden”, the largest of the canvases is is the centerpiece of the show. Measuring 7.5 x 27 feet (228.6 x 822.96 cm), it astonishes the spectator with a combination of scale, rich textures, and vibrant colors.

Using materials more common in creating decorative crafts, Martinez captures the distinctive celebratory elements of the Caribbean region where he lives; evoking a sense of joy, festivity and pleasure in those who view the paintings.
