NAPLES, FL.-Art Encounter 2007, a fine art and contemporary crafts exhibition, runs May 12 to July 1 and celebrates the work of artists residing in the state of Florida. Guest juror Frank Holt, executive director of the Mennello Museum of American Art in Orlando, selected 69 works by 50 artists from the 416 entries submitted by 155 artists. Entries came from as far away as Crystal River and Jupiter. Holt said, "The entrants have submitted work that has an honesty of style, originality of subject matter and perhaps most importantly, the understanding of the materials being used for creation."

The NAA has issued a Call for NAA Member Entries for Through the Lens: NAA Members Photography Exhibition, which will take place July 14 to August 12. NAA members are invited to submit one or two photographic works for possible inclusion in this non-themed exhibition of color, black & white and digital photography. Photographs must be framed and ready to hang with hanging wire firmly attached. Judy Lutz, Photo Editor for the Naples Daily News, will serve as juror. Artwork receiving is July 1 from 4 to 7 pm and July 2 from 10 am to 2 pm. There is no entry fee.
