MADRID.- Sabrina Amrani announces a new chapter in the gallery’s development, bringing its entire Madrid operation together in Carabanchel, on the gallery’s fifteenth anniversary. Following the definitive closure of its spaces in central Madrid, Sabrina Amrani, Sabrina Amrani Projects, Sabrina Amrani Editions and the gallery’s new offices are now concentrated on Calle Sallaberry, creating a cluster of complementary spaces dedicated to exhibitions, experimentation, collaboration, editions and the day-to-day work of the gallery.

The move completes a process that began in 2019, when Sabrina Amrani opened a 600- square-metre space in Carabanchel conceived for exhibitions of institutional scale. At the time, Madrid’s official tourism body described it as the first art gallery to open in the district.

Seven years later, Carabanchel has developed into one of Madrid’s most active artistic districts, bringing together artists’ studios, galleries, independent initiatives and cultural spaces. Rather than maintaining its programme between central Madrid and Carabanchel, Sabrina Amrani has chosen to consolidate its activities in the neighbourhood it first committed to in 2019.

When we opened in Carabanchel in 2019, it was already home to an extraordinary community of artists, but it was still largely outside Madrid’s established gallery circuit. Seven years later, bringing the whole gallery together here feels like a natural continuation of that decision. What began as a second space has become the centre of gravity of Sabrina Amrani.

The new configuration was unveiled during APERTURA Madrid Gallery Weekend 2026, through three simultaneous presentations that articulate the distinct identities of the gallery’s public spaces.

Description of image

At Sabrina Amrani, Joël Andrianomearisoa presents I Have No Regret For The Past And This Is Not The End Of The World, his sixth solo exhibition with the gallery. Bringing together works made between 1996 and 2026, the exhibition traces thirty years of Andrianomearisoa’s practice across different media, geographies and periods of his career.

The newly opened Sabrina Amrani Projects launches with ARCHIVO, a group exhibition curated by Álvaro Conde Bravo and bringing together Pablo Barreiro, Paloma de la Cruz, Alba Lorente, Cristina Mejías and Claudia Pastomás. The exhibition examines matter as a carrier of artistic process and memory, with works in which traces of action, transformation and accident remain embedded in the material itself.

Projects is conceived as a platform extending the gallery’s ecosystem towards new possibilities for exhibition, collaboration, experimentation and encounter. Its inaugural exhibition also explores collaboration between Spanish galleries, inviting Alarcón Criado, Arniches, Galería Nordés, T20 and Vangar to participate alongside Sabrina Amrani.

At Sabrina Amrani Editions, the programme Unique Guest presents Carlos Aires’ Il Mondo, an installation composed of construction props engraved with excerpts from songs. The intervention temporarily transforms Editions, a space dedicated to editions, publications, artist objects and other forms of collecting, through a work that expands beyond the conventional format of the edition.

Together, the three exhibitions make visible the logic behind the new structure: Gallery remains the core of Sabrina Amrani’s exhibition and representation programme; Projects provides a space for curatorial experimentation and collaboration; while Editions approaches artists’ practices through editions, objects and alternative formats. The ensemble is completed by Sabrina Amrani’s new offices, also located on Calle Sallaberry, bringing the gallery’s operational structure into the same immediate context as its public programme.

The consolidation marks a shift in the geography of Sabrina Amrani. Founded in Madrid in 2011 with its first space in Malasaña, the gallery progressively expanded its activity before opening in Carabanchel in 2019. Its programme has developed an international profile focused on artists whose practices engage with cultural, social and political questions, with a particular history of dialogue across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

What began in 2019 as a second location is now the gallery’s principal base in Madrid: a group of interconnected spaces devoted to exhibitions, projects, editions and the work behind them, all concentrated on Calle Sallaberry.
