BASEL.- The Fondation Beyeler is expanding its ensemble – both physically and conceptually – further strengthening the unique interplay between art, architecture and nature for which it is internationally renowned. During the preview phase (26 September 2026 to 14 January 2027), which begins at the end of September, the first visitors will be able to experience Peter Zumthorʼs new buildings, the expanded and restored Beyeler Park and the redesigned historic buildings for the first time alongside the existing museum building by Renzo Piano. During this phase, special opening hours apply and the number of tickets is limited.

With the opening of the expanded ensemble, the Fondation Beyeler will add three new buildings by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor to the popular Beyeler Museum designed by Renzo Piano: the Wyss Museum, the Ammann Pavilion and the Erlen Torhaus. In addition, the expanded ensemble includes landmarked buildings that have been restored and redesigned. They will house studios for art education workshops, a listening lounge, a greenhouse and a small experimental project space, creating new platforms for artists and visitors. A heritage-listed private park with century-old trees and contemporary artworks will open to the public. This means the parkland will double in size, just like the exhibition spaces housing the collection, creating space for cultural events, natural areas and social areas for socialising, rest and contemplation.

With the gradual activation of the expanded ensemble from autumn 2026, Fondation Beyeler is launching a one-year cultural programme that will enable visitors to experience the various spaces. Exhibitions, concerts, performances, artist talks, film screenings, workshops, music sessions and botanical events invite visitors to explore the art, architecture and landscape of the expanded ensemble from different perspectives.





For the first time, the sweeping inaugural exhibition “Constellations” will unfold across the entire ensemble. More than 200 works from the Fondation Beyelerʼs collection and important private collections enter into new dialogue with the two museum buildings, the expanded park and the historic buildings. The exhibition changes with the seasons, creating new constellations between art, architecture and nature.

Parallel to “Constellations” (26 September 2026–5 September 2027), there are also four major solo exhibitions: “Ruth Asawa” (18 October 2026–10 January 2027), “Frida Kahlo” (31 January–17 May 2027), “Louise Bourgeois” (13 June–17 October 2027) and “Elizabeth Peyton” (from 26 September 2027).

Step-by-step discovery: the preview phase from 26 September 2026 to 14 January 2027

The inauguration of the new ensemble is deliberately being carried out in several steps. From 26 September 2026, first visitors will be able to experience the expanded ensemble. Opening days and tickets are limited during this first phase. The preview phase allows visitors to experience the new ensemble ahead of its full opening. At the same time, the Fondation Beyeler can begin operating the new ensemble and gain practical experience.

First tickets are available now and are sold exclusively online. This limited number of tickets for specific time slots can be booked via Fondation Beyelerʼs website. The available tickets, visiting days and current opening hours can be found online.

From 15 January 2027, the entire ensemble will be open every day. Full ticket availability will then resume, with the Fondation Beyeler once again open seven days a week.
