BERLIN, GERMANY.- The theme of this year’s KUNSTHERBST BERLIN, which will take place from September 7th to October 7th, is “Art for All.” Each year since 1997, KUNSTHERBST BERLIN has devoted an entire month of events to current topics and developments in the contemporary art scene in Berlin. The ultimate goal of the event is to celebrate contemporary art and introduce it to a wider public audience.

Berlin continues to assert its leading status as one of the world’s most important art metropolises. The ART FORUM BERLIN involves more than 500 galleries, three art fairs as well as the participation of the many international artists who now make the exciting German capital their home.

KUNSTHERBST BERLIN is a project of Berlin Partner GmbH. Since 2002, the Institute for Culture and Media Management (IKM) at Berlin’s Free University (FU) has acted as their major cooperation partner responsible for the creation and organization of the KUNSTHERBST event program. The itinerary includes approximately 40 events and provides an excellent model of the effective linking of business, science and contemporary art. The discussions, tours and workshops organized by KUNSTHERBST BERLIN – talks, parcours, colloquia and specials – are extremely popular and often fully booked in advance each year.

KUNSTHERBST BERLIN is also designed to promote the open discussion of issues currently facing the city. The theme “Art for All” specifically acknowledges the popularization of art, the dynamic development of art markets, the various processes of artistic education and cultural development and the importance of art in the public sphere. This year will also mark the second annual installment of the “boulevART” exhibition on Kurfürstendamm Blvd.

More information will be available starting April 17th at http://www.kunstherbst.de. The complete event program will be published at this site as well as in the KUNSTHERBST Program Guide by the end of August. We’re looking forward to joining you at this year’s KUNSTHERBST BERLIN and invite you to contact us with questions and information requests at any time.
