METZ, FRANCE.- Art.Metz will open its 7th edition on April 20, 2007. art.metz is a somewhat different contemporary art fair as we accept artists, associations and galleries. art.metz refuses to accept as a criterion of selection the fact that an artist is supported by a gallery. It is everybody’s freedom to choose their means of diffusion and it must be respected. However, we have created a selection committee to help define our place in the art world and see to it that the works exhibited are of artistic quality. art.metz in figures, is about 120 exhibitors, 5500 sqm of exhibition, 6000 visitors (in constant increase since the beginning), 450 pieces sold on the site.

art.metz was created in 2001, at a time when the first contacts about the building of the Pompidou Centre of Metz were taking place and we hope that the interest developed by this focus on contemporary art will continue to be beneficial.

art.metz, it is the possibility for the local public as well as the people from the neighbouring borders, to see works of a good level and still affordable.

We will as in the past, create a specific area of 180 sqm where, this year, photography will be honoured with 5 guest photographers.

art.metz is opened to all the artistic proposals and we will remain attentive to all the applications until the next fair which will show from April 20 to 23, 2007.
