arteba 2026 announces 70 galleries for 35th-anniversary edition
For the fifth consecutive year, Estudio Torcello will design the fair's masterplan, which for this edition will cover 11,000 square meters of the venue.

BUENOS AIRES.- arteba has announced the galleries selected for its 2026 edition, which will mark the 35th anniversary of Fundaci髇 arteba and bring together 70 galleries from Argentina and abroad at La Rural in Buenos Aires.

The fair will run from November 6 through 8, with preview days scheduled for November 4 and 5. Spread across the Yellow Pavilion, this year's edition will feature galleries showing artists from Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Peru, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Puerto Rico and France.

Long established as one of Latin America's most visible contemporary art fairs, arteba is once again structuring its program around several distinct sections, combining established galleries, emerging projects and international participants.

Main Section brings together established galleries

The Main Section was selected by an independent committee composed of Nicol醩 Barraza, director of Mite in Buenos Aires; Juan Eyheremendy, director of Vermelho in S鉶 Paulo; Florencia Giordana Braun, director of Rolf Art in Buenos Aires; and independent curators Florencia Malbr醤 and Lara Marmor.

The participating galleries are:

Utopia focuses on younger and experimental projects

The Utopia section, curated by artist Juan Jos Cambre and artist and independent curator Santiago Villanueva, will once again provide a platform for galleries and initiatives operating at a more experimental scale.

Selected participants include BAC Departamento 112 *** Deskomunal Galer韆 Dicha Fantasma galer韆 casa proyecto Galer韆 Cielo Galer韆 LADO D GARRA hipopoety La Mesa Palos Pionera Polvora Sat閘ite Triple Frontera.

The section has become an important counterpoint to the fair's more established booths, offering visitors a chance to encounter younger galleries, artist-led initiatives and less conventional exhibition formats.

International Dialogue Zone returns

arteba will also continue its International Dialogue Zone, which brings together galleries and a program of conversations examining the pressures and possibilities shaping contemporary art in Argentina and Latin America.

This year's international participants are Galeria Vermelho of S鉶 Paulo, Galerie Jocelyn Wolff of Paris, 3+1 Arte Contempor鈔ea of Lisbon, Embajada of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Cecilia Brunson Projects of London.

The program is intended to place Latin American artistic production within a broader international framework while encouraging debate around how the region's art scene is responding to changing economic, institutional and cultural conditions.

A fair designed more like a city than a grid

For the fifth consecutive year, Estudio Torcello will oversee the fair's architectural masterplan. The 2026 layout will occupy roughly 11,000 square meters of La Rural's Yellow Pavilion.

Architect Horacio Torcello said the design was conceived less as a conventional sequence of aisles than as a living route through the fair. Rather than relying on rigid rows of numbered booths, the plan introduces open plazas and resting points where visitors can pause, regain a sense of the whole space and approach the galleries from new angles.

The idea, Torcello explained, is to encourage visitors to wander rather than simply move from booth to booth.

“The apparent disorder of the route is, in reality, an invitation,” he said, describing a fair that visitors might discover “as one discovers a city and not a catalogue.”

The layout is also meant to reward repeat viewing, with paths designed to reveal different perspectives on a second or third circuit. Rest areas will double as informal meeting places for collectors, artists, curators and visitors.

With its anniversary edition, arteba is placing as much emphasis on the experience of moving through the fair as on the individual presentations themselves, reinforcing its role as both a commercial platform and a social meeting point for the regional art world.

arteba 2026 will take place November 6–8 at La Rural in Buenos Aires, with preview days on November 4 and 5.
