BERLIN.- TUTTO PASSA is Italian for "everything passes" – a philosophy of life that understands change not as loss, but as value. With his eponymous body of work, the Berlin-based artist Ivan Gette captures the here and now: that single moment shaped by countless influences, never to repeat itself.

Gette found the impulse for this during a stay in Pietrasanta (Tuscany), where he deliberately engaged with the philosophy of TUTTO PASSA and let himself be inspired by it. Our lives are made up of exactly such moments – fragments that stay with us and shape who we are. Gette translates them into colour. Not as an image, but as a memory that lives on within us.

Constantly in motion, Gette's artistic practice is carried by travel, encounters and unfiltered emotions. Each work is created intuitively, unfiltered and in the moment. Nothing is explained. Gette deliberately leaves his paintings to the viewer, enabling an honest, unfiltered encounter between work and person. Each painting is only completed by the person who owns it: collectors are invited to give each painting its own title – a privilege that inseparably links the work to its owner.

TUTTO PASSA is therefore more than an exhibition. Time is one of the most precious things we possess, and like little else, it cannot be bought. What remains is the memory of the moment. TUTTO PASSA creates the opportunity to preserve and honour such moments, in the form of a work that finds a permanent place in one's own collection.

The exhibition is being staged in collaboration with AK Galerie and can be experienced as a dual exhibition during Berlin Art Week in September. The gallery on Behrenstrae will show TUTTO PASSA as a solo exhibition from 9 September to 22 November, while a selection of further works will be presented at the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair.

Ivan Gette was born in Siberia and now lives in Berlin. As an abstract painter, he is constantly on the move. Before devoting himself entirely to painting, he worked for several years as an art director and in marketing, including for Nike. His paintings, which he himself describes as "abstract nihilism", combine structure and chaos, order and dissolution, translating individual moments directly into colour.

His works have been exhibited internationally, including at Art Basel Miami Beach and Parallel Vienna. His works are held in private collections in Germany, Spain, the USA, India, the Netherlands, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, France and Monaco.
