Paul Signac's magnificent view of Venice, held in a private collection for more than 100 years, will lead the Impressionist & Modern Art auction on 26 June (lot 3229, CHF 2/3 million). With shimmering touches of colour, Signac created a masterpiece of Neo-Impressionism. 'Jeune fille lisant' marks Pierre-Auguste Renoir's return to the soft, light-filled style of painting characteristic of around 1890 and ranks among the finest works of one of the most important periods of the artist's career (lot 3214, CHF 900 000/1 400 000). Works by René Magritte (lot 3278, CHF 1.1/1.6 million), Heinrich Campendonk (lot 3238, CHF 450 000/700 000) and Claude Monet (lot 3221, CHF 350 000/450 000) are among the further highlights of this auction.

The Swiss Art auction brings together an exceptionally distinguished selection of important works by Switzerland's leading artists, of a quality and number rarely seen at auction in recent years. Two masterpieces by Ferdinand Hodler will be offered on 26 June: 'Sunset on Lake Geneva from Caux' (lot 3035, CHF 3/4.5 million) and 'The Jungfrau Massif from Mürren' (lot 3041, CHF 1.2/1.8 million). Although only three years separate their creation, they vividly illustrate Hodler's progression towards abstraction during the final years of his life. Félix Vallotton's 'Femme nue couchée de dos' (lot 3029, CHF 700 000/1 200 000) likewise demonstrates an artist's turn towards minimalist abstraction. Through reduced planes of colour, Vallotton creates an atmosphere that engages the viewer's subconscious and produces a mysterious, compelling effect.

The Post-War & Contemporary auction on 25 June brings together exciting examples of art from the 20th and 21st centuries: a work by Damien Hirst featuring his trademark butterflies beneath high-gloss lacquer (lot 3475, CHF 400 000/600 000) and a large-format, hypnotic painting by Richard Prince from his 'Jokes' series (lot 3443, CHF 300 000/400 000). Works by Robert Rauschenberg (lot 3448, CHF 100 000/150 000), Barry Flanagan (lot 3488, CHF 300 000/400 000), Nicolas de Staël (lot 3417, CHF 300 000/400 000) and Josef Albers (lot 3424, CHF 150 000/250 000) further demonstrate the breadth and quality of the auction.

A colour linocut by Pablo Picasso, 'Buste de femme d'après Cranach le Jeune', from an edition of only 50, is the top lot in the Prints & Multiples auction, also on 26 June (lot 3686, CHF 250 000/350 000).
