DALLAS, TX.- Heritage Auctions announces its Third Annual Star Wars Day Auction, taking place on May 4th and commemorating nearly half a century of one of the most influential franchises in popular culture with an expansive and eclectic selection spanning the full Star Wars universe.

The auction features a sweeping array of material that captures the full scope and evolution of Star Wars—from its groundbreaking 1977 debut, through the original and prequel trilogies, into the era of The Force Awakens, and on to today’s streaming-driven storytelling, including The Mandalorian. Spanning nearly five decades, the collection highlights the franchise’s lasting cultural impact and the breadth of its fan and collector community.

Leading the sale are several standout, museum-quality pieces that underscore the depth and legacy of the franchise. Among them is a George Lucas–signed draft of the Star Wars screenplay from the “Starkiller” era, alongside a selection of hero props and rare production materials that trace the saga’s evolution on and off screen.

A centerpiece of the auction is a museum-caliber, large-scale Millennium Falcon replica, widely regarded as one of the most accurate ever produced. Recreating the iconic 1977 filming miniature with remarkable precision and historical fidelity, the model has been celebrated by Industrial Light & Magic veterans and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, with some describing it as nearly identical to the original. Hand-built using period-authentic ILM techniques, it incorporates more than 3,000 components sourced from over 170 vintage kits, capturing the Falcon in its original configuration—an increasingly rare achievement, as the original miniature has since been modified and is now housed in the Lucasfilm Archives.

Another marquee highlight is Star Wars #1 35-cent Price Variant (Marvel, 1977), CGC Signature Series 9.6, widely considered the most sought-after comic variant of its era. Issued in limited test markets, the book’s rarity has cemented its status as one of the most valuable comics of the 1970s. This exceptional copy is signed by both Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford—an especially rare pairing—further elevating its significance for collectors.

Additional highlights include a First Order Stormtrooper helmet, never-before-seen photography from the original 1977 film and a broad selection of production artifacts, original artwork and signed material that together illustrate the evolution of Star Wars storytelling and its enduring cultural impact.

Rounding out the sale, a second session of more than 550 toys and trading cards offers further depth, led by one of just nine known examples of Luke Skywalker’s 1977 “rookie card” graded PSA Gem Mint 10. The group spans mint carded figures, rare foreign bootlegs, and a wide range of global releases, reflecting how Star Wars has been embraced by collectors around the world for generations.
