NEW YORK, NY.- After a decade at its Park Avenue address, Forum Gallery is preparing to turn the page. The gallerys lease at 475 Park Avenue is coming to a close, marking the end of an era defined by a steady rhythm of exhibitions, collectors, and conversations that have shaped its presence in New Yorks art scene.
Before the doors close, however, the gallery is offering one final moment at this storied location. Rance Jones: Watercolors, on view through April 18, serves as both a farewell and a celebrationan exhibition that captures the intimacy and nuance of Joness work while inviting visitors to reflect on the gallerys ten-year chapter in the space.
A temporary home with familiar company
Change, in the art world, often comes with continuity. Forum Gallery will soon relocate to a temporary home on the 11th floor of the iconic Fuller Building at 41 East 57th Street, where it will operate through September 11, 2026 in collaboration with DFN Projects.
The move places the gallery among long-standing colleagues, including Hirschl & Adler Galleries and Adelson Galleriesnames that echo shared histories, including time spent together years ago at the Crown Building. The new setting, steeped in Midtown Manhattans gallery tradition, offers both a sense of renewal and a return to familiar ground.
Launching the next phase with Spring Jewels
Forum Gallerys first exhibition in its new space will open on May 19, 2026. Titled Spring Jewels, the show brings together a curated selection of modern and contemporary masterworks, reflecting the gallerys commitment to both quality and accessibility.
The exhibition will feature works by a distinguished roster of artists, including Alexander Archipenko, Oscar Bluemner, Claudio Bravo, Davis Cone, Linden Frederick, Gregory Gillespie, Chaim Gross, Alan Magee, Clio Newton, Brian Rutenberg, and Max Weber, among others.
Carefully assembled, Spring Jewels aims to strike a balance between visual impact and market appeal, offering collectors works that are not only compelling but also attractively priceda strategy that speaks to the gallerys understanding of a shifting art market.
Looking ahead to a major fall highlight
Beyond the summer program, Forum Gallery is already setting its sights on a key moment in September. The gallery will present the work of Raphael Soyer (18991987) at the Independent 20th Century art fair, scheduled to take place from September 24 to 27, 2026.
This years edition of the fair will be held for the first time at the historic Breuer Building on Madison Avenue at 75th Street, adding architectural and cultural resonance to an event that continues to grow in significance within the international art calendar.
Continuity amid transition
While the physical address may be changing, Forum Gallery emphasizes that its commitment to artists, collectors, and the broader art community remains unchanged. The transition period is being approached not as a pause, but as an opportunity to reimagine the gallerys future while maintaining its active role in the present.
Visitors are encouraged to experience Rance Jones: Watercolors before April 18a final opportunity to step into the Park Avenue space that has defined the gallery for the past decade.
As the move unfolds, gallery principals Bob and Cheryl Fishko, along with Nicola Lorenz and Marjorie Van Cura, will continue to share updates, ensuring that the gallerys audience remains connected every step of the way.
In a city where change is constant, Forum Gallerys next chapter promises to be as dynamic as the one it leaves behind.
