SAN ANTONIO, TX.- For three decades, the McNay Art Museum has brought together dealers, collectors and art enthusiasts for the McNay Print Fair, a celebrated, community-centric event dedicated to original prints, drawings, watercolors and photographs. In honor of its 30th anniversary, the McNay elevates the signature event with special extended programming, fresh curatorial energy and a new leadership vision for the future.

The Fair will take place March 7-8 and will feature 14 dealers from around the United States showcasing thousands of prints, drawings, photographs and editioned sculptures for purchase. Steered by Elizabeth Kathleen Mitchell, Ph.D., the McNay’s newly appointed head of curatorial affairs and the curator of prints and drawings, the event will underscore the Museum’s mission of engaging a diverse community in the discovery of the visual arts. Mitchell will build upon the growth and success of the Fair with a new point of view.

“It is an honor to continue the McNay Print Fair, a tradition that our community has come to expect and love over the last three decades,” said Mitchell. “The anniversary year promises a renewed commitment to our community and a celebration of critical voices in the print world. It is also a moment to look ahead at the extraordinary possibilities that the Fair has to offer for decades to come.”

The expanded programming for the Fair will include a live podcast recording with Platemark host Ann Shafer and special guest Jim Stroud, master printer and founder of Center Street Studio, taking place on March 5. In addition, supporters are invited to a March 6 preview and special reception.

One of the featured dealers, Ruiz-Healy Art from San Antonio and New York, donated the color etching “El Sueño del Pez” (2003) by Oaxaca-born artist Irma Guerrero to be raffled during the event. Raffle tickets may be purchased in person at the Fair for $5 or $20 for 5 tickets. Proceeds support acquisitions made by the McNay’s Prints and Drawings department. The drawing and winner announcement will take place at 2 p.m. on March 8. Participants must be present to claim the print.

In addition to works for sale and the raffle item, guests may also purchase limited edition products from The McNay Store, including a commemorative 30th anniversary McNay Print Fair tote bag. A free commemorative pamphlet will be offered while supplies last.

“The McNay Print Fair is an opportunity for our visitors to engage with experts, discover new artists and connect with our vibrant community of art lovers,” said Matthew McLendon, director and CEO of the McNay Art Museum. “We hope both experienced and new collectors will take the opportunity to explore the world of prints and learn about artists from all stages of their careers.”
