AMOCA announces Robin Trozpek as President of the Board of Directors
Trozpek, a graduate of Scripps College and CSU Fullerton who earned a law degree from UCLA, is a longtime Claremont resident.

POMONA, CA.- The American Museum of Ceramic Art announces today that Robin Trozpek has been elected President of its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026.

“I am proud to offer my efforts to a museum that has been brought so far by Dave and Julie Armstrong, Beth Ann Gerstein, and its remarkable group of founders. Contemporary clay is a medium we can all enjoy,” said Trozpek, who has served on the AMOCA Board of Directors since 2022.

As President, Trozpek will lead the Board of Directors in a variety of important activities, including implementing the museum’s updated 5-Year Strategic Plan, ushering AMOCA through a reopening of its newly renovated spaces, and furthering its connection with the city of Pomona and surrounding communities. Additional Executive Committee members are Mark Walsh, Vice President of the Board, Artist, and Community Volunteer; David S. Armstrong, Ph.D., Treasurer of the Board and Director at Alexion Pharmaceuticals; and Lisa Soiseth, Secretary of the Board, Artist, and Community Volunteer.

Trozpek, a graduate of Scripps College and CSU Fullerton who earned a law degree from UCLA, is a longtime Claremont resident. Retired from Pomona College, where she worked in Capital Giving and with the Pomona Plan, she is also an At-Large Board Member at the Scripps Fine Arts Foundation. At AMOCA, she has been instrumental in the success of its fundraising efforts as Co-Chair of the Advancement Committee, mentoring staff, leading a Planned Giving initiative, and assisting with the expansion of Individual Giving programs.

“Robin has been a strong advocate for AMOCA, championing our mission throughout her tenure on the Board," said Beth Ann Gerstein, Executive Director of AMOCA. "Her considerable experience and her collaborative approach position us perfectly for the next chapter of our organization. I'm excited to work alongside her as we expand the museum's reach and deepen our impact in the community.”

“Robin is absolutely the right person to lead AMOCA for its next phase. Her understanding and expertise in fundraising for non-profits, and her ability to thoughtfully consider many options and build consensus, along with her creative problem-solving skills, will take the museum to the next level,” says outgoing Board President Alexandra Muse Ehrlich (2019-25), who continues to serve on the museum’s Board. Additional Board members are Robin Blahut, Justin Chang, Trudy Chiddix, Peter Coye, Kathleen Stewart Howe, Gene Phillip Killian, Esq., Raulee Marcus, Timothy Mayeda, Don Pattison, Jenny Rosen, Susan Sasaki, Kent Tool, and John Wigmore.
