Following the companys best year on record, RM Sothebys Private Sales division has formed the partnership as the next stage in its European expansion, with the Real Art on Wheels providing an exceptional Dutch facility with state-of-the-art car showroom, storage, and workshop facilities.
Based in Burgerveen in the Netherlands, only a 10-minute taxi ride from Amsterdams Schiphol airport, Real Art on Wheels is the Netherlands leading collector car dealership, and represents the lifes work of founder Bodie Hage, and is now the latest addition to RM Sothebys growing real estate portfolio. From January 2026, both Bodie and Real Art on Wheels will become part of the RM Sothebys family, giving both Private Sales and auctions divisions a much-needed continental base of operations from which to continue its continuing European expansion.
Hage has been operating Real Art on Wheels as a fully-fledged dealership since 2013, operating from its incredible 1,200-square-metre glass-fronted facility a stones throw from the shore of Westeinderplassen. Purpose built as a modern sales showroom with full amenities, the facility offers space for 40 cars, with 35 typically on display at any given time. The second floor houses a research facility headed by Anton van Luijk, while just a few minutes drive away a large workshop adjoins a storage facility with room for a further 30 cars, offering a one-stop-shop for buyers and sellers. The workshop carries out all manner of work on client cars, ranging from routine maintenance and rally preparation to full-blown restorations. The company also offers independent and objective advice based on a deep knowledge of the collector car market, while Hage is also a certified appraiser accredited by Federatie TMV.
Bodie Hage said: Our business has always been about a lot more than just buying and selling carswe want to become the premium partner for every collector. That has become a lot easier after becoming part of RM Sothebys and being able to offer existing clientscurrently about 60 per cent of whom are Dutchaccess to services like the Sealed platform, which offers a unique approach to buying and selling that is perfectly suited to clients who prefer to keep a lower profile. Its also a huge benefit having access to RM Sothebys and Sothebys global network, which not only spans dozens of countries but includes a black book of the worlds most qualified collectors across all platforms. Im tremendously excited to work with the talented team at RM Sothebys and to see how we can build and improve Private Sales and Sealed going forward.
Jack Little, Managing Director, Private Sales and Sealed Bid, said: To many in the industry and the collector car world in general, Bodie and his highly acclaimed business, need no introduction. Body is hugely respected and boasts a lifetime of knowledge and expertise which will be invaluable to RM Sothebys. He has owned and brokered some of the worlds most important cars and has a global reputation for his exceptional client service. Our partnership with him and Real Art on Wheels, is the start of a very exciting new era for our European operations.
