MONTEREY, CA.- The Monterey Museum of Art presents Monterey NOW:
Andrea Johnson, on view through March 25, 2007. A biannual series, MontereyNOW is devoted to artists currently working in Monterey County. Each exhibition unveils the most recent work of a local contemporary artist who has made a significant contribution to the visual arts, regionally as well as nationally.

Inspired by a keen sense of observation and the natural world, the paintings of Andrea Johnson bridge the gap between realism and the surreal. Her striking portraits, landscapes and studies of nature, painted with great precision, evoke the mystery lurking beneath the everyday, natural world.
