| PoMo unveils rapidly growing collection of global icons |
|
|
The presentation offers a first encounter with new acquisitions.
|
TRONDHEIM.- The newly established PoMo Collection is growing rapidly. The collection is constantly evolving, with new works that contribute to its relevance, distinctiveness and high international quality. The museum is also committed to ensuring that the collection represents a wide diversity of artists, across gender, generations, backgrounds and artistic expressions. In this way, the works reflect the cultural and political shifts of our time, while maintaining a timeless relevance.
Through the permanent exhibition, you can experience several of PoMos new classics, first presented in the opening exhibition Postcards From the Future: Simone Leighs Sphinx (2021), Andra Ursuțas Thought Bubblelessness (2023), and Cui Jies Gulustan Residence, Baku (2020). You can also revisit Katharina Fritschs Madonnenfigur / Madonna (1987/2024).
The presentation also offers a first encounter with new acquisitions, including the installation Amber, Pink and Wisteria (2025) by Ann Veronica Janssens, one of the artists iconic fog rooms. Here, you are invited to step inside the artwork itself and experience how time and space dissolve in a symphony of colour. The piece has been site specifically developed for PoMo in collaboration with the artist, who is already represented in the collection with her luminous glass works Sunset B, CL2E354 and CL2 (2020).
You can also experience new acquisitions by Anne Imhof, Fischli & Weiss, and Terry Winters, presented here for the first time in dialogue with well-known works from the collection.
The collection presentation is complemented by unique works from the Reitan Collection, including a series of prints by Edvard Munch, photographs by Hiroshi Sugimoto and historical collages and paintings by Franz West.
During the exhibition period, the museum is also showing film interviews in PoMo Project, featuring several of the artists, on loan from the Louisiana Channel.
Artists of the PoMo Collection: Ann Veronica Janssens · Katharina Fritsch · Andra Ursuţa · James Lee Byars · Irving Penn · Cui Jie · Ugo Rondinone · Anne Imhof · Robert Irwin · Franz West · Terry Winters · Sandra Mujinga · Philippe Parreno · Simone Leigh
