WASSENAAR.- In 2026, Voorlinden will celebrate its 10th anniversary! Mark Manders' acclaimed solo exhibition Mindstudy will be on display until 18 January, and the popular collection exhibition Stillness in the storm – including Counting the Rice by Marina Abramović – has been extended until 23 August 2026.

The following is also on the programme for the anniversary year:

CLAIRE TABOURET
31 January – 25 May 2026

Painting on canvas, faux fur and Plexiglas panels, alongside bronze sculptures and ceramics – no medium is beyond Claire Tabouret. Voorlinden presents the first major museum survey of this French painter, showcasing the breadth of her oeuvre, her boundary-pushing practice, and her engagement with complex themes such as identity and human relationships. At times classical or romantic, then dark and mysterious, her work is infused with personal narratives or based on found imagery. In addition to this major solo exhibition, Tabouret will also unveil her stained-glass windows for Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris this year.

SHILPA GUPTA
31 January – 17 May 2026

A symphony of 100 forbidden, censored voices: in For, in your tongue, I cannot fit, Shilpa Gupta gives voice to poets who have been imprisoned throughout history for their writings or their beliefs. This striking sound installation, from Voorlinden’s collection, will be shown in the Netherlands for the first time and forms the centerpiece of her solo exhibition at the museum. In her multidisciplinary practice, the Indian artist frequently highlights the fragility of freedom of expression — also in our time. She also questions geographical and political borders, as well as the ways in which we perceive others and ourselves.

WILLIAM FORSYTHE
6 June – 23 August 2026

With his Choreographic Objects, world-renowned choreographer William Forsythe shifts your attention from viewing to doing. These works do not rely solely on visual form to convey their purpose; instead, they establish distinct choreographic conditions that can only be encountered through your active, physical engagement with the object. Sometimes you engage instinctively, almost without thinking; other objects require the deliberate coordination of multiple tactics in order to respond to their simple rules. Your participation – whether playful or methodical – becomes the means of recognizing the kinds of actions and responses that the works are designed to bring to the fore.

CELEBRATING THE ICONS OF ART
12 September 2026 - 24 January 2027

Voorlinden presents a landmark exhibition: Celebrating the Icons of Art. In this celebratory show, contemporary icons from the museum’s own collection meet their groundbreaking 20th-century predecessors, works that have shaped our collective visual memory and continue to challenge the ways we see. Over the past decade, artworks from the museum’s collection have proven to possess that same iconic power: they are widely cherished and integral to the museum’s identity. Expect an inspiring dialogue between major figures such as Roni Horn, Fernand Léger, Andy Warhol, Lara Favaretto, Daniel Buren, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Damien Hirst, Henri Matisse, Tracey Emin, Yayoi Kusama, Etel Adnan, Louise Bourgeois, Francis Bacon, David Hockney, and Ron Mueck.
