GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY hosted their Holiday Estates Auction on December 13th, 2025, with an exquisite, rare Steinway & Sons Dutch Rococo Parquetry Piano and a Neoclassical Bronze & Micromosaic Top Coffee Table, specially made for J.A. Lehman in Rome in 1857 were the top sellers of the day, while Contemporary Art, always a crowd pleaser at Roland, also had a very good showing for the holidays.

Both pieces were expected to do well, with the Steinway & Sons Dutch Rococo Parquetry Piano/Bench, Steinway & Sons Dutch Rococo parquetry inlaid and carved piano with bench, Model O, selling high for $19,500 and the very unique Neoclassical Bronze & Micromosaic Top Coffee Table, Antique micro-mosaic floral wreath decorated table top possibly from the atelier of Michelangelo Barberi, with bronze and metal figural base, top Rome, last half of the 19th century, the base of three scrolling rose patinated bronze terminated with gilt metal figures of the three graces, the verso of top engraved "This Mosaic table is made for J.A. Lehman whilst in Rome, Sept. 1, 1857 and it is his wish that it always remains in the Lehman family.". [19.5" H x 39" Diameter], going for $13,000.

In the always favorable Contemporary Art arena, a Martiros Sarian (Armenian, 1880-1972) Gouache Landscape on Board, 1945, dated and signed M. Sarian in Cyrillic to lower left, in a frame, accompanied by a COA. [Framed: 18" H x 21.5" W], sold for $9,100, an Henri Matisse (French 1869-1954) Liseuse au Bouquet de Roses (D. 471), lithograph on paper, 1925, signed in pencil lower right, numbered 48/50 [Art: 6.25" H x 9.5" W, Frame: 14" H x 17" W]. Sold for $7150 and a Jean Xceron (Greek/American, 1890-1967): "Painting #426" - Oil On Canvas, blue, red and black abstract on white and shaded background in oil on canvas, signed and titled on back, bearing two labels from Rose Fried Gallery, NYC, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, 1966 RISD circulating exhibition, a label from Zappeion Museum, Athens, Greece, and Museum of Modern Art Exhibit Art and Embassies-Brussels label, 1959, and a personal inscription. [Art: 37" H x 48" W; Frame: 38" H x 49" W]. Formerly Property of Katherine Orphanos, a personal friend of the artist. Sold for $13,000.

Others included an Italian School Large Round Marble Relief, early 20th century marble relief, depicting a profile study of an Archangel in clouds with wings, unsigned, with a crescent moon in the upper right. NB: Piece is very heavy. [Marble: 20" Diameter; Frame: 28" Diameter]. Sold for $2730 and a Rufino Tamayo (Mexican, 1899-1991): "Personaje Sentado" – Print, framed and matted abstract figural relief print (mixografia) titled "Personaje Sentado", 1976. Signed in white colored pencil lower right "R. Tamayo" and numbered lower left "H.C. 3/10". [Sheet: 29.25" H x 22.25" W; Frame: 36.5" H x 29.75" W]. Sold for $1800.

Jewelry and silver also were also well represented, with a Georg Jensen "Acanthus" Flatware Service, 95, Georg Jensen "Acanthus" pattern flatware in box, comprising 12 dinner knives, 12 flat butter spreaders, 12 place spoons, 12 teaspoons, 12 coffee spoons, 12 dinner forks, 12 salad / dessert forks, 3 blue enameled salts with 3 salt spoons, 3 serving forks, 1 serving knife, and sugar tongs, marked. [Total 84.5ozt., excludes knives and butter spreaders], selling for $6175, a Gold, Diamond & Sapphire Watch Bracelet, 14K white and yellow gold hinged bangle bracelet inset with a platinum, diamond and sapphire watch case, movement marked Didisheim 17 jewels 2 adjustments, tongue marked 14K, watch case marked platinum.[26.5 dwt. (excluding watch case), interior width 2.25"], sold for $4225, a Seaman Schepps Turbo Shell & Sapphire Ear Clips, pair of turbo shell and cabochon sapphire ear clips with 14K ear clip backs, marks to back "Seaman Schepps 14K". [1.25" H x 1" W], sold for $2340 and a Tiffany & Co. Makers Sterling and inlaid Mahogany Tray, cutout corners, inlaid line and sun motif center medallion, with pierced gallery border, mark to one end near handle. [3" H x 25" L x 16" W]. Sold for $2925.

Highlights in Decorative Arts included an Antique Carved and Polychrome Carousel Horse, decorated standing carousel horse with pierced wavy mane and flowing tail, the saddle painted red with blue star, with leather reins and stirrups, now mounted on a carpeted base with wheels, marked on the step-up bar "A100", unsigned, possibly Gustav Dentzel or Charles I. D. Looff [55" H x 57" W x 12" D]. 71, selling for $ 4225 and a Landier & Fils Cristalleries De Sevres Vases, Pair, Landier & Fils Pair of Cristalleries De Sevres faux onyx opaline and gilt metal mounted vases, France, circa 1945, in the Louis XVI style, marks to base. [10.25" H x 3.5" Square], which sold for $1430.
