ATHENS.- Renowned American super‑realist sculptor Carole Feuerman has been awarded the A World of Peace Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts, honoring her enduring contribution to contemporary sculpture and her lifelong dedication to art as a force for empathy and human connection. The award was presented by Ada Iliopoulos, President of the Soleil Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Athens and the Mayor of Athens, the renowned curator Giovanna Cicutto, and the ceremony was under the auspices of the city of Athens and of the Peace Ambassador for art of UNESCO & Vice President of the United Nations federation, Mrs. Guila Clara Kessous. The award was a real artwork by the famous Greek artist Kostis Georgiou, who designed the sign of Peace by people who work all together to create peace around the world with their creations, work, and spirit. The award had taken place during a distinguished ceremony held at the Acropolis Museum.

Receiving the award beneath one of the world’s most powerful symbols of civilization and cultural continuity, Feuerman reflected on the deeper meaning of the moment:
“I didn’t expect this moment to feel so personal. Receiving the award for Peace in Lifetime Achievement in the Arts from the Soleil Foundation and the City of Athens, at the Acropolis Museum, reminded me why I’ve spent a lifetime shaping the human form, because art can speak quietly, yet carry meaning far beyond itself. It’s less about looking back and more about reaffirming what art can still do: invite empathy, calm, and connection. I am grateful for this moment and for everyone who believes in art as a shared human language.”
The award crowns an exceptionally active and internationally visible year for Feuerman. In 2025, her work was celebrated through three major museum exhibitions, including The Voice of the Body, a landmark 50 year retrospective curated by Demetrio Paparoni at Palazzo Bonaparte in Rome, and Emergence: The Art of Carole Feuerman at the Medici Museum of Art in Cleveland, Ohio, and Long Island Girl at the Museum of Sex in New York, among others.

Her publishing milestones further expanded her legacy. A book signing of Feuerman: Super Realist Sculptures, published by Rizzoli, took place at Rizzoli New York on November 19, 2025, while her new book, I AM MINE, published by Moebius, featuring six essays by leading art critics and scholars, was unveiled during Art Basel Miami in December 2025; the publication situates Feuerman’s work within the cultural and artistic landscape of the 1970s and 1980s, illuminating her lasting influence on contemporary sculpture.

Feuerman’s commitment to artistic equity continues through the Feuerman Sculpture Foundation (FSF), founded in 2011 to support underrepresented artists. In September 2025, the Foundation presented ZODIAC: The Mysterious Power of the Creative, a group exhibition curated by Feuerman at the Medici Museum, featuring thirty FSF artists. At the same time, the Foundation inaugurated a sculpture park at the Medici Museum with the donation of Feuerman’s monumental works Poseidon and Justice, valued at $2.1 million.

Her lifetime achievements were also recognized by Universal Women Network Magazine in 2025, honoring Feuerman for her contributions to the arts and her impact as a woman artist whose career continues to inspire across generations.

Looking ahead, 2026 opens with a major international exhibition. On January 16, 2026, Feuerman will present Reborn into the Water, a solo exhibition at the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan, designed by Zaha Hadid. Featuring more than 30 sculptures, from monumental to life‑size, the exhibition explores water as a metaphor for strength, purification, and renewal, unfolding as a poetic dialogue between sculpture, architecture, nature, and spirit.

Further cementing her global stature, Feuerman will receive the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Sculpture Center (ISC) on May 1, 2026, one of the highest honors bestowed upon sculptors worldwide.
