SEATTLE, WA.- The Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) revs into high gear this fall with the opening of Kickstands Up! 125 Years of Motorcycling in the PNW, on view November 28, 2025, through April 26, 2026, in the museum’s Walker Gallery.

Produced in partnership with the Pacific Northwest Museum of Motorcycling, Kickstands Up! takes visitors on a journey through the region’s long and surprising motorcycle history, from the earliest machines that evolved from bicycles to the innovative rides of today.

The exhibit showcases vintage motorcycles, riding gear, photographs, and personal stories that reveal how motorcycling has shaped life in the Pacific Northwest, and how the region, in turn, has influenced motorcycle culture nationwide. Visitors can also step into immersive spaces and explore hands-on experiences.

“Motorcycles aren’t just about machines, they’re about people, stories, and community,” said Leonard Garfield, MOHAI’s Executive Director. “From rugged logging roads to city streets, motorcycling has been part of life in the Northwest for more than a century. We’re thrilled to showcase this history in all its grit, creativity, and innovation, and to celebrate the people who made it possible.”

Highlights include:

• Rare and vintage motorcycles spanning 125 years of innovation.

• Stories of riders, racers, clubs, and fabricators who built community around motorcycling.

• Exploration of how motorcycling supported the region’s economy and responded to national trends.

• Interactive opportunities for visitors of all ages.
