LOS ANGELES, CA.- The Jim Henson Company and Julien's Auctions concluded their headline making event, “The Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction” Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 in front of a live audience at The Jim Henson Company in Hollywood and online with thousands of fans, institutions and collectors from around the globe with countries such as Australia, Brazil, China, Iceland, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Turkey and more as well as bidders from Europe, the United Kingdom and the US participating at juliensauctions.com. For the first time in history, over 400 rare and important items from Jim Henson and the Company he founded were presented featuring the company’s iconic puppets, props, and memorabilia from The Jim Henson Company—including original pieces from Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Labyrinth, multiple Muppet productions, Jim Henson’s wardrobe and personal items, and more in celebration of the American entertainment company’s storied seven-decade legacy.

The marquee item of the auction was none other than the grand full-size Crystal of Truth seen in the popular prequel series: The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The monumental translucent crystal purple prop that served as the heart and source of all life on Thra sold for a heart pounding $89,600, well over its original estimate of $20,000.

Full size original puppets from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance thrilled fans and collectors at the auction including Generic Stonewood #1 Gelfling full body puppet ($51,200 more than 5 x original estimate of $10,000), Generic Stonewood #3 Gelfling Puppet ($32,000 3 x original estimate of $10,000), Dousan Sailor Gelfling puppet ($22,400), “Sleepy” Podling puppet ($22,400 well over its estimate of $8,000), a fully animatronic, radio-controlled Thrushpog puppet ($8,960) and more.

Historic original full-body puppets from the much-loved Fraggle Rock series enchanted once again such as Uncle Travelling Matt ($64,000), Gillis Fraggle ($64,000) and Doozer puppet ($57,600), Morris Fraggle ($44,800), Rumple Fraggle ($44,800), Tosh Fraggle ($32,000) Terrible Tunnel Spider Puppet ($44,800), Mermer Merggle ($44,800); as well as other puppets and production material from Jim Henson Company’s history such as two "Glig" puppets from "The Land of Gortch" Saturday Night Live sketch ($25,600 well over its estimate of $8,000); The Jim Henson Hour Mac puppet from “Dog City” ($16,000); and an original Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas squirrel puppet ($25,600) and an original production script ($12,800 26 x original estimate of $500) from the Jim Henson-directed classic Christmas special.

The magic of the Muppets captured the hearts and imaginations of bidders today such as Miss Piggy’s iconic lavender suede heels ($22,400 well over its estimate of $7,000) worn in The Great Muppet Caper's beloved bicycle scene; items from The Muppet Christmas Carol including the schoolroom busts of Aristotle ($19,200), Dante ($16,000), Molière ($19,200), and Shakespeare (with Broken Nose) ($19,200) and "Fozziwig & Mom" sign from Tiffany's window display ($12,800); as well as an original 1979 The Muppet Show style guide binder ($19,200 38 x original estimate of $500); two The Muppet Movie 35mm film reel canisters ($12,800 42 x original estimate of $300); an original The Frog Prince production script with newsletter for the Jim Henson-directed television special that contained the first ever appearances of the Muppet characters Sweetums and Kermit's nephew, Robin, as well as featuring Jim Henson's daughter, Heather Henson as the baby prince ($16,000 53 x original estimate of $300); The Muppets Take Manhattan original theatrical one-sheet poster signed by Jim Henson, Frank Oz, and David Lazer ($12,800); and more.

Jim Henson’s personal and professional items also brought smiles and top bids such as: three limited-edition silkscreen prints, titled "Hilarity," "Melancholy," and "Conceit," reproduced by artist Andrew Mockler, based on the originals created by Jim Henson in the late 1950s ($38,400 nearly 13 x original estimate of $3,000); a group of Jim Henson’s five business cards ($3,840 well over its original estimate of $300); Henson’s wardrobe such as his striped jacket and Miss Piggy necktie worn on August 28, 1989 at his (and Kermit's) handprint ceremony at Walt Disney World ($6,400); two frogs statue from Jim Henson’s personal office at The Jim Henson Company ($12,800 21 x original estimate of $600); original prop pocket watch made for the production of Labyrinth personally kept by Jim Henson as a personal memento ($19,200 over 6 x original estimate of $3,000); among many other items.
