HONG KONG.- This Autumn, Christie's will present Hong Kong Luxury Week, featuring a preview exhibition and a series of live auctions taking place from 21 to 27 November as Christie's marks the first anniversary of its Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson. A selection of exceptional and coveted jewellery, timepieces, handbags, and wines will be showcased, including several distinguished private collections all exemplifying rarity, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance. The quality offering in Hong Kong this season responds to the extraordinary, global demand across Christie's Luxury categories, welcoming collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
Finest and Rarest Wine | 21 November
Kicking off the Luxury Week live auctions is the dedicated single-owner sale of Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau Part IV on 21 November. Following the resounding success of Parts I-III, Part IV offer collectors and connoisseurs another precious opportunity to explore and acquire the finest bottles from the esteemed entrepreneur and distinguished wine collector, Joseph Lau. Each bottle is a testament to Mr. Lau's extraordinary vision.
The collection showcases the rarest and most coveted wines from Henri Jayer, including exceptional lots originally acquired from Christie's 2012 auction, 'The Private Cellar of Henri Jayer'. Highlights include Vosne-Romanée vintages from 1992 and the iconic Cros Parantoux spanning the 1990s through 2001. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is superbly represented, with Romanée-Conti and Montrachet bottles from the 1990s to the 2010s. A rare and limited offering of Domaine d'Auvenay Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet and Chevalier-Montrachet adds further prestige to the sale. Classic Bordeaux treasures abound, presenting outstanding vintages from the splendid 1982 through the 2000s. The Right Bank is represented by stellar lots such as Château Cheval Blanc and Le Pin from the 2000s, while Petrus 1990 is available in parcel quantities and different formats, including the rare 6 litre Imperial.
Handbags & Accessories | 24 November
The highly anticipated Handbags & Accessories live sale on 24 November brings together an extraordinary assemblage of collectible treasures. Following the auction record achieved for the Hermès Quelle Idole in Spring, taking centre stage this season are Hermès masterpieces from the Himalaya crocodile Birkin to the sought-after Faubourg Birkin in White and Gris Misty, as well as an Hermès Quelle Idole in Matte Gris Perle alongside exceptional crocodile Birkin and Kelly bags in vibrant colours, with a rare vintage Mini Kelly appearing for the first time at auction.
The auction also features playful creations and limited editions from Louis Vuitton and Chanel, and marks Christie's first time offering Haute Couture dresses in Hong Kong with two elegant Dior dresses gracing the lineup. From bold statements to timeless staples, each piece reflects impeccable craftsmanship and design intent.
Magnificent Jewels | 25 November
Leading the Magnificent Jewels live auction on 25 November is the most valuable jewel offered in Asia this year, The Royal Blue, an exquisite necklace adorned with 16 Kashmir 'Royal Blue' Sapphires, totalling 104.61 carats with an estimate of HK$100 150 million / US$13 19 million. Alongside is a pair of important Kashmir sapphire and diamond earrings, featuring rare no-heat 'royal blue' sapphires.
The auction will showcase over 100 stunning jewels, including an important 'pigeon's blood' Burmese ruby bracelet of 36.84 carats and a pair of pigeon's blood' ruby and diamond earrings, as well as an iconic and unique Cartier Tutti-Frutti necklace. The sale will also feature outstanding coloured diamonds, coloured gems, jadeites and natural pearls with iconic jewellery from renowned houses such as Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, JAR, Graff and many more. An online auction, Magnificent Jewels: Online, will follow from 26 November to 5 December, offering additional exceptional jewellery pieces thoughtfully selected by Christie's specialists.
Important Watches | 26-27 November
On 26 November, the dedicated single-owner sale of The John Shaw Patek Philippe Collection, will offer 59 significant Patek Philippe complications spanning from vintage to modern. Each timepiece has been carefully selected by Mr Shaw for either its complexity or, conversely, its simplicity and aesthetic beauty. One of the ultimate trophies for collectors of Patek Philippe is reference 5016R introduced in 1993. Reference 5016 was the most complicated watch made by the company, featuring a minute repeater, a perpetual calendar with retrograde date and a tourbillon.
Important Watches: Featuring "The Chronicle Part 2" and "The Eternity" Collections will be held across two days on 26 and 27 November, offering an array of highly coveted timepieces graced by two iconic model: the legendary Patek Philippe reference 1518 in 18k gold, featuring a French calendar, alongside the impressive Rolex Daytona 'Paul Newman' model, reference 6239, an 18k gold chronograph adorned with a champagne dial.
The auction is highlighted by two important private collections The Chronicle Collection and The Eternity Collection. Following the exceptional success of Part 1 of The Chronicle Collection this Spring, which achieved a remarkable 100% sell-through rate, Christie's is delighted to present Part 2 of this collection. This exquisite assemblage predominantly highlights Patek Philippe watches, spanning from neo-vintage to modern complications.
The Eternity Collection represents a remarkable ensemble that epitomizes the collector's ardor. Since the early 1990s, this collection has evolved into a veritable treasure trove of high-end mechanical watches, showcasing rare Patek Philippe complications and iconic models from Rolex to Audemars Piguet.
