Ancient treasures and modern masterpieces headline Artemis Fine Arts auction

BOULDER, COLO.- Collectors and art enthusiasts are preparing for an extraordinary opportunity as Artemis Fine Arts presents its much-anticipated auction, “CONSIGNOR Says Sell! Ancient, Ethno, Art,” beginning October 24, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. (GMT-6) in Boulder, Colorado. Featuring discounts of up to 70 percent and newly consigned pieces, this wide-ranging sale unites thousands of years of human creativity—from ancient Egyptian relics to contemporary bronze sculptures.

A Celebration of Global Heritage

The event spans cultures and centuries, offering antiquities from Egypt, Greece, Italy, and the Near East, as well as Asian, Pre-Columbian, African, Oceanic, and Native American works. Each piece is guaranteed authentic and legally acquired, with in-house shipping provided to simplify acquisitions for buyers around the world.

Equestrian Bronze Sculpture by Hansen - "Pinot" (2015). Estimate $10,000-$15,000.

Among the highlights is JD Hansen’s equestrian bronze “Pinot” (2015), a lifelike horse bust cast in the lost-wax tradition. Signed and numbered 2 of 9, the work captures Hansen’s hallmark fusion of vulnerability and strength, accentuated by a warm, red-wine patina evocative of its name. Currently listed at $28,000 by Hohmann Gallery in Palm Desert, this edition carries a presale estimate of $10,000–$15,000—a potential steal for collectors of contemporary American sculpture.

Indigenous and Mythic Works

Large Inuit Soapstone Acrobat in Transformative Pose. Estimate $6,000-$9,000.

The auction also showcases an impressive Inuit soapstone acrobat from Canada, depicting a hybrid spirit figure in a dramatic contortionist pose. This 20th-century piece reflects traditional Inuit beliefs about the fluid boundary between human and animal realms. Estimated at $6,000–$9,000, it stands as a powerful symbol of endurance and transformation.

19th C. Burmese Pyinsarupa Temple Guardians w/ Antlers. Estimate $6,000-$9,000.

From Southeast Asia, a pair of 19th-century Burmese Pyinsarupa temple guardians—mythical protectors adorned with real deer antlers—embody the fusion of strength and spirituality. Their bold, expressive features once guarded sacred sites, and they are expected to fetch $6,000–$9,000.

Monumental and Spiritual Art

Large 19th C. Dayak Wood Hampatong Figure / House Post. Estimate $4,000-$6,000.

Equally compelling is a large Dayak Hampatong house post from 19th-century Borneo, used to watch over ancestral villages, and a monumental 18th-century Burmese alabaster Buddha, radiant in its white “sagyin” marble with traces of red pigment. Both are valued between $4,000 and $6,000.

A Global Marketplace for Art and Antiquity

From ancient relics to modern bronzes, the upcoming Artemis Fine Arts sale promises a journey through civilizations and artistic vision. Collectors can bid confidently knowing every artifact is vetted and guaranteed.
