ADELAIDE.- Adelaide Contemporary Experimental announced the launch of the Multichannel Commission (MC), a new contemporary art award that supports the creation and presentation of ambitious multichannel moving image work by a South Australian artist.

The $10,000 award invites artists working in any discipline to submit an ambitious new concept for a silent, multi-screen moving image or digital work to be exhibited in ACE’s prominent window space in the heart of Adelaide’s West End. This public-facing site offers high visibility and continuous engagement with passing audiences, day and night.

This is a two-stage process. Artists are first invited to submit a short Expression of Interest (EOI) outlining their concept. Shortlisted applicants will be paid a development fee to prepare a more detailed proposal. The selected commission will be presented at ACE between July and September 2026.

The Multichannel Commission is supported by the Porter Street Fund, which continues to underpin ACE’s commitment to commissioning ambitious, experimental new work. Following five years of the Porter Street Commission (2020–2025), the Fund now supports a broader range of invited and open- call commissions – allowing ACE to support more artists, more often.

ACE encourages applications from artists at any stage of their career working across contemporary and experimental forms. First Nations artists, d/Deaf and Disabled artists, and artists of all genders, sexualities and cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Expressions of Interest open Tuesday 14 October 2025 and close Sunday 3 November 2025 at 11.59pm (ACDT).
