INDIANAPOLIS.- The Herron Gallery presents Material Terrain~A Sculptural Exploration of Landscape and Place, on view through February 25. An imaginative, thought-provoking exhibition that explores the relationship between the natural and constructed world. Exhibiting artists include Michele Brody, Kendell Buster, Ming Fay, Donald Lipski, Dennis Oppenheim, Roxy Paine, Wendy Ross, John Ruppert, Ursula von Rydingsvard, Valeska Soares and James Surls.

Since its founding in 1979, the Herron Gallery has been one of Indianapolis' most distinctive art galleries. Specializing in contemporary art, it long ago established a reputation as the kind of gallery where experimental shows were the norm and off-the-wall ideas were encouraged.

The mission of the Herron Gallery is to complement and complete the educational goals of the Herron School of Art and Design. To fulfill this mission, the gallery serves as a community and regional forum for the evolving discussion of contemporary art and culture. Visitors to this non-profit, visual art gallery are exposed to works of art created by regional, national, and international artists. Recent exhibitions in the Eleanor Prest Reese and Robert B. Berkshire Galleries have included notable artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Darryl Pottorf, Cynthia Pachikara, Don Gummer, Robert Lostutter, and even rocker John Mellencamp.
