NEW YORK.- MoMA presents an installation of artist-designed wallpaper in the concourse at Rockefeller Center, a new MoMA Store shopping bag, and a special Museum admission ticket, all in conjunction with the exhibition Eye on Europe: Prints, Books & Multiples/1960 to Now. These projects exemplify the accessible, democratic nature of the printed art featured in Eye on Europe, and illustrate how this art can interact with a broad public and foster new forms of distribution. The exhibition features wallpaper projects by Damien Hirst, Peter Kogler, and Sarah Lucas, among others, that embody the creative thinking generated by this populist printed format, and demonstrate the capacity of printed art to extend beyond the galleries and be seen in new ways. Special related projects include:

An installation at Rockefeller Center. Columns in the concourse will be wrapped
in Sarah Lucas's wallpaper Tits in Space (2000). The installation will be on view November 1–26, 2006,

A special design for the Museum's admission ticket created by artist Peter Kogler. Printed with computer-generated ants, the ticket is related to his wallpaper Untitled (1992), a work that is prominently featured at the entrance to the exhibition. The ticket will be issued beginning October 15, 2006.

A paper shopping bag featuring a work by David Shrigley. Based on a woodcut from Shrigley's portfolio Untitled (2005), the bag will be available in MoMA Stores beginning October 15, 2006. In addition, a vinyl tote bag of the same design will be on sale for $25 in MoMA Stores beginning November 1, 2006.

Eye on Europe: Prints, Books & Multiples/1960 to Now identifies major developments in the mediums of prints, books, and multiples in Europe over the past 45 years and is the first museum exhibition to explore this highly significant but lesser-known facet of contemporary art. It is on view at The Museum of Modern Art from October 15, 2006 through January 1, 2007, and is organized by Deborah Wye, The Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Chief Curator, and Wendy Weitman, Curator, Department of Prints and Illustrated Books, The Museum of Modern Art.

The exhibition is supported by the Sue & Edgar Wachenheim Foundation, Anna Marie and Robert F. Shapiro, and David Teiger. Additional funding is provided by BNP Paribas, by Pro Helvetia, Swiss Arts Council, by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, by The Danish Arts Agency, by the Austrian Cultural Forum New York, by The Consulate General of The Netherlands in New York, and by The Italian Cultural Institute. The accompanying publication is supported by The International Council of The Museum of Modern Art. The accompanying educational brochure is made possible by The Contemporary Arts Council of The Museum of Modern Art and by The Cowles Charitable Trust.
