VP of Finance and Administration Resigns
Getty Museum.

LOS ANGELES, CA.- The J. Paul Getty Trust announced today that Bradley W. Wells, vice president of Finance and Administration, has resigned effective August 23. Mr. Wells had been assistant vice chancellor of financial services for the California State University (CSU) system before joining the Getty in May 2001. He also served at the Getty from 1998 to 1999 as associate director of program analysis and planning.

Mr. Wells has been responsible for the Getty's Security, Accounting, Budget, ITS, and Facilities and Grounds operations. Commenting on Mr. Wells' departure, Deborah Marrow, interim president and chief executive officer said, "I am grateful to Brad for his dedicated service to the Getty. Since arriving here he has worked diligently to streamline systems and increase the efficiency of operations to the ultimate benefit of the Getty's four Programs both at the Getty Center and Getty Villa. We wish Brad the very best."

Pending the appointment of an interim or permanent successor, Dr. Marrow said the finance functions will temporarily report to James M. Williams, vice president, chief investment officer and treasurer, and the administration functions will temporarily report to Tim Whalen, director of the Getty Conservation Institute. A search for Mr. Wells' replacement will begin soon.

The J. Paul Getty Trust is an international cultural and philanthropic institution devoted to the visual arts that features the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Getty Research Institute. The J. Paul Getty Trust and Getty programs serve a varied audience from two locations: the Getty Center in Los Angeles and the Getty Villa in Malibu.
