MEXICO CITY.- A dialogue between architecture and music from the conceptions of these two Catalonian artists is what the photographic exhibit Gaudi and Mompou: The Sound of Light recently opened in this city. The show, which will remain at the Palacio de Cultura Banamex until October 15, was curated by photographer Marc Llimargas, and will also include the presentation of pianist Adolf Pla, both of them Catalonians too.

During the inauguration of the exhibit, the Spanish ambassador to Mexico Cristina Barrios, explained that this Project was first shown in her country in 2002, during the festivities celebrating Gaudi´s International Year.

UIT these celebrations, the artist´s 150th birthday was celebrated and apart from this exhibit others were also organized throughout the world.

This project allows to introduce into the fascinating sculpture of Gaudi, which Hill continue with the showing of Frederic Mompou´s extraordinary music, through the interpretation of Pla.

Barrios, who accentuated the importance of the cultural Exchange between her country and Mexico and said that since 2003 this exhibition has been viewed in several central and South American cities.

She also commented that apart from the photographic exhibit, a cycle of conferences have been organized on the life and work of Gaudí and Mompou, which will be held on July 27 and 28 in the Palacio de Cultura Banamex.

The exhibit, Gaudí y Mompou. The Sound of Light, created by photographer Marc Llimargas and pianist Adolf Pla, includes 37 images hat show the detail of the masterpieces created by the architecture genius like the templo de la Sagrada Familia, lCasa Batlló, Parque Güell and lCasa Mila, among others.
