Julie Tolentino, Resolution / Dissolution III - De-Limitation.

BERLIN, GERMANY.- The RealismusStudio presents: Resolution / Dissolution III – De-Limitation, on view through August 27, 2006. We have arrived. The sun is glaring, everything is white. The new HD-camera is still hanging from a shoulder – or not; it’s just an empty case – has the camera been stolen? Memory failure. The sound inside our heads has been replaced by a softly vibrating hum. Every so often it sounds as though a tap were dripping. Is it deafness? Or has everything we have ever known somehow stopped? We feel faint, yet strangely light-headed. If only our memories would start functioning again… We are alone at one of the beaches that have mushroomed throughout the city centre. The sand is sticky and appears to consist of sugar. Strangely enough, a puddle has formed. A glistening piece of tin foil and several scraps of paper are being tossed about in the warm breeze. We catch one of them. It reads: FOR YOU – by appointment only – Oranienstraße 25 We’ll go there. Denis Luce, Kirsten Pieroth, Stefan Riebel, Jörg Schütze (pro:ohm) and Julie Tolentino.
Performance: The performance “FOR YOU” by and with Julie Tolentino can be seen daily from 1 to 8 August 2006 during opening hours. Each individual performance is for just one person – bookings can be made at the NGBK office: Tel. 030-6165130
The exhibition is accompanied by a programme of 3 film evenings showing films and videos on the subject of RESOLUTION / DISSOLUTION. An introduction to the topic may be seen in the exhibition waiting-room where excerpts from film classics will be showing, including ”The Man with the X-Ray-Eyes“, “Blaumilchkanal“ and “Themroc“.
