MONTRÉAL, CANADA.- For the exhibition Sound and Vision: Photographic and Video Images in Contemporary Canadian Art, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Ontario have joined forces to present a reading of Canadian contemporary art that sheds light on the influential artists of our era, internationally acclaimed for their contribution to various artistic disciplines. What Reading of Contemporary Canadian Art Do Canadian Museums Propose? Thursday and Friday, September 28 and 29, 2006.
To better appreciate th e rich diversity of the readings of contemporary Canadian art proposed by the museums whose mission is to acquire and exhibit them, we are inviting professionals from these institutions to present their collections in the context of their experience and the most important challenges they face today. Together, we will seek to understand the choices made by our museums.
