GLEN COVE, NY.- Roland Auctions NY is presenting its first auction of the Winter season on Saturday December 16th, 2023 at 10am with items from multiple estates and will feature over 150 lots of Art & Memorabilia from a prominent New York art world insider’s private collection, including contemporary pieces by Mark Kostabi, Roy Lichtenstein, Kenny Scharf, Gregory Gillespie and more, along with artist autographs and many collectible items.

The auction will also feature hundreds of lots of Fine Art, Decorative Arts, 20th Century Modern, Antique & Vintage Furniture, Textiles, Silver, Gold and Silver Jewelry, Rugs, Asian Art, Decorative Arts, and Lighting. Previews will be held on Thursday, December 14th 10am - 6pm & Friday, December 15th 10am -6pm.

In one of Roland’s most popular arenas, Contemporary Art, they are offering a Mark Kostabi (American, b. 1960) World Trade Center “Moving On”, unframed acrylic on canvas depicting a couple, two enasaurs and a green apple, signed "Kostabi 2002". [18" H x 24" W]. Estimate $800-$1,200, a Mark Kostabi (American, b. 1960) “Sailing to Byzantium (Regatta)” unframed acrylic on canvas, 1992, signed, titled and dated verso. [23 1/2" H x 18" W]. Estimate $1,500-$2,500 and a Gregory Gillespie (American, 1936-2000) "Saint & Dog," M/M on Paper, mixed media on paper with artist label to verso, titled "Saint and Dog" and dated "1983," with labels for Salander-O'Reilly and Forum Galleries. [Artwork: 24 1/4" H x 20 1/2" W; Frame: 25 3/8" H x 21 5/8" W]. Estimate $1,000-$2,000.

Lithographs and posters will include a Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997) Girl at Piano, photogravure print poster, matted and framed under glass. [57 1/2" H x 40" W]. Estimate $200-$400, a Roy Lichtenstein (American, 1923-1997) "Reflections", 1999, offset lithograph on paper, featuring the still life image of a classic New York apartment of the era. It was printed in 1999 for a pop art exhibition at Chiostro del Bramante, Rome, Italy. Framed under glass. [38 1/2" H x 51" W'. Estimate $200-$300, a Kenny Scharf (American, b. 1958) Tony Shafrazi Gallery Exhibition poster, 1984, offset lithograph in colors, signed “To Herb”, matted and framed under glass. [Sheet: 29 1/4" H x 23" W; Frame: 35 1/2" H x 25 1/4" W]. Estimate $300-$400 and a Christo (Bulgarian/American, 1935-2020) 1968 “Wraps the Museum,” Poster, unframed exhibition poster: “Christo Wraps The Museum scale models, photomontages, and drawings for a non-event / June 5-25, 1968, the Museum of Modern Art, New York”, monotone print on kraft paper, © 1968, The Museum of Modern Art. [33 1/4" H x 22" W]. Estimate $100-$200.

Other notable art includes the Live Edge Slab. Jeffrey Brosk (American, b. 1947) “Feb. 28, 1977 #4” stained and parcel gilt live edge cherry wood slab, titled verso, bearing artist's business card. [31" H x 16" W]. Estimate $800-$1,200 and a David Macaulay (British/American, b. 1946) "Veduta Della Stazione Grand Central", 1982, signed and dated lower right, and numbered 12/80 in pencil, matted and framed under glass. The large lithograph presents an 18th-century view - in the manner of Hubert Robert - of Grand Central Terminal as a classical ruin, open to the elements and invaded by foliage. [Sheet: 41" H x 32" W; Frame: 45 1/2" H x 36 1/2" W]. Estimate $200-$400.

Art world memorabilia includes a group of Four Artist-Signed Business Cards. Group of 4 Herbert Nass business cards, each one signed by a different artist, including Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, matted and framed under glass. [Frame: 12 1/4" H x 6 1/4" W]. Estimate $100-$200.

Jewelry and silver being offered include a Tiffany & Co. Makers Silver Repousse Bowl, Tiffany & Co. Makers sterling silver oval footed bowl having floral repousse rim and four claw feet, American, 20th century. 56.05 ozt. [4 1/2" H x 12 1/2" W x 16" D]. Estimate $3,000-$4,000 and an 18K Gold Twist Cord Bracelet. Robust design bracelet, having thick 18K yellow gold cord interlaced with 18K white gold cables. 30.1 dwt. [9" L]. Estimate $1,800-$2,250.

Decorative Arts are represented with a Louis McClellan Potter (American, 1873-1912) Bronze Sculpture c.1905, Bronze sculpture "Spirit of Night." Signed and dated to base. Inscribed base verso "Copyright 1905 Gorham Mfg. Co." Exhibited Denver Art Museum. Provenance: James Graham & Sons, New York. Sotheby's Parke Bernet, New York, October 4, 1977, Lot 116. [26 x 12 1/2 diam. inches]. Estimate $1,500-$2,000 and an Art Deco Austrian Ceramic Bowl. Art Deco Austrian glazed earthenware jardiniere, circa 1927, designed by Erna Koprna (1894-1984), model 274, bearing marks to bases.
