Art Miami To Be Held January 2003

MIAMI, FLORIDA.- Long regarded as an essential highlight of South Florida’s jam-packed cultural season, the 13th edition of Art Miami—held January 9-13 in the Miami Beach Convention Center—proudly presents an extensive survey of modern and contemporary art culled from exhibitors throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. Unlike many other stops on the international art fair circuit, Art Miami blends well-established galleries with first time exhibitors, creating unprecedented opportunities for collectors to view never-before-seen work by emerging artists, side by side with modern masters.

Miami’s unique position as the gateway to Latin America offers international art enthusiasts the distinct opportunity to discover new treasures at Art Miami—not only from Latin America and Spain—but from a broad spectrum of work on view from countries such as France, England, Italy, Poland, Russia, Israel, Curaçao and Australia, to name a few of the more than 25 countries to be represented in 2003.

Art Miami 2003 eagerly highlights the expansion of Currents 03: New Perspectives, the show’s popular section devoted to cutting edge galleries featuring young, emerging international artists. With a new space devoted solely to artists up to the age of 35, nearly 40 galleries—many exhibiting for the first time in the US—will have an opportunity to experience the increasingly informed South Florida art market.

Factor in the inestimable charms of Miami in January as a coveted destination, complete with sun-washed beaches and a vibrant cultural scene, and it’s no wonder the art world forecasts success for this well-established show.
