LONDON.- Bonhams will host two Arms and Armour sales in Knightsbridge this November:
the Antique Arms, Armour & Militaria sale on Wednesday 22 November, and The Penrose Collection of Antique Firearms on 23 November. This is in addition to the sale of Sporting Guns, Rifles and Vintage Firearms, also on 23 November.
Among the highlights of the Antique Arms, Armour & Militaria sale is an enamelled silver-gilt Grand Cross Mantle Star of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George which was presented in 1860 to Sir Gaspard Le Marchant, Governor of Malta and formerly Spanish knight, governor of Newfoundland and Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia. It has an estimate of £10,000-15,000.
