BASEL, SWITZERLAND.- Under the direction of President Ernst Beyeler, the Board of Trustees of the Beyeler Foundation elected Samuel Keller, Head of Art Basel, as the future Head of the Beyeler Foundation. In spring 2008, he will take over the management of the world-famous foundation in Riehen near Basel and succeed the present Head Christoph Vitali in his tasks.

Samuel Keller was appointed in 2000 as the Head of Art Basel and its "Sister Event" Art Basel Miami Beach. He substantially contributed to the worldwide reputation of these internationally leading art events of Swiss Exhibition for which he is responsible since 1995. With the assumption of his new tasks as Head of the Beyeler Foundation, Samuel Keller will resign from the operational management of Art Basel, and at a strategic level, involve himself further as Chairman of the Art Kunstmesse AG.

With the election of Samuel Keller as the new Head starting from 2008 onwards, Ernst Beyeler and the Board of Trustees of Beyeler Foundation settled in time the management succession.
