ROME, ITALY.- The Borghese Gallery inaugurated an exhibit consisting of 50 paintings made by Raphael. The paintings included were made between the years 1505 and 1508. This is the biggest show ever held for the renaissance artist. The Louvre has loaned La Belle Jardiniere which was acclimatized during 72 hours prior to the start of the show. Five paintings made by Raphael, which were originally housed at the Borghese, have returned for this extraordinary show. Also part of the show is the Deposition and the Baltimore Art Museum has loaned Madonna dei Candelabri. Apart from the seven former Borghese Raphaels, other famous works will include La Fornarina from Rome's Palazzo Barberini, Blessing Christ from the Pinacoteca Tosio-Martinengo in Brescia, and Lady With A Unicorn and Portrait of a Young Man from two other Italian galleries, reported news agency ANSA. The show runs from Friday until the end of the year. The exhibit has been insured for 1 billion euros, an Italian record for an exhibit.
