National Lottery Consultation: Have Your Say

LONDON, ENGLAND.-The Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) is currently consulting the public on the future distribution of National Lottery money. This is an opportunity for all those who care about the arts to make their voices heard.

Over the last 10 years, Arts Council England has invested £2 billion of lottery funds in the arts in England. That £2 billion has changed the cultural landscape of this country. It is difficult to imagine an England without the Angel of the North, The Lowry, or Tate Modern. Through the National Lottery, we have contributed to the renaissance of communities and neighbourhoods and made it possible for the arts in England to achieve international recognition and acclaim. We want to make sure that the arts continue to be supported by the National Lottery so that we can continue build on these achievements and build a legacy for the arts of the future. This is why we are asking you to respond to the DCMS consultation.

Details of how to respond to the consultation can be found on the DCMS website www.lottery2009.culture.gov.uk.
